Le Cinque Terre

Five miles of rocky coast among two promontories, thousands of kilometres of dry-laid stone walls, five small towns castled up on stone spurs in minuscule creeks. Not only to be admired for its image by the sea, the Cinque Terre offer beautiful footpaths with take breathing view, churches, oratories and old castles, diving, food and wines of first quality.

The best way to enjoy the Cinque Terre

is hiking or sailing it! Walking along the mountain trails that peak through the Mediterranean bush and the enchanting sea or sailing the crisp clean Mediterranean waters admiring the amazing skyline! There is the main trail which goes along the coast and links all the villages in five hour walk and for the more seasoned walkers, there is a more difficult trail on the ridge and another trail to the Sanctuaries.

Village of Vernazza

Vernazza, as seen in the below photo, has a natural pier with a amphitheatre shape making it perhaps the most picturesque village of the Cinque Terre. Vernazza was a Roman installation and had a big strategical importance during the age of the Maritime Republics in Genoa. In the village you will find that it is dominated by a watch tower and the "Castello" remains and in the small square, overlooking the seaside, there is the church of Santa Margherita di Antiochia.

The chain of mountains that surrounds these villages runs parallel to the "Appennino Mountains" and creates small insenature and steep valleys where you will find a large aray of things to enjoy on a hiking trip. This unique landscape is distinctly different from the rest of the coast. So much so that it is on the UNESCO world heritage list. Click here:

Monterosso, Vernazza, Corniglia, Manarola, Riomaggiore - all of which are small picturesque towns in Liguria. Ralph wrote... Guido, on behalf of myself and Jo Anne, I wanted to thank you again for the wonderful tour of Tuscany that you provided during our recent visit to Italy. We had a wonderful time meeting your friends, seeing the beautiful countryside, and enjoying the great wine. We look forward to telling our many friends about you and your great services, and hopefully we can work with you on a villa at some point in the future.

Darren and Anna wrote.... Our favorite moment by far Guido, and we're not kidding, the best experience of our lives to date was our day with you. We will remember this day forever, and we're telling people back home mostly of that day, so it really meant a lot to us you brought us there. Thank you so much!

Corinne wrote... "I experienced a wonderful week last fall in the Chianti Classico region of Italy with Christina and Guido. Christina with her great experience and knowledge of the area put together an unforgettable experience which satisfied several of my interests including food, wine, art, culture, and walks through the countryside. Guido added even more to the experience with his local knowledge, contacts, positive energy, and his light hearted and friendly manner. The small group of women that Christina put together for this trip couldn't have been better. She is very sensitive to the needs of the group and obviously has the respect of her many terrific contacts in this region."
