designed for those craving a little exercise and a breath of fresh air in Chianti Tuscany Italy.

Biking through the one of Italy's most well known

wine making areas. The word “Chianti” is as difficult to reconstruct as is the history of this land. Some say it can be attributed to the Etruscan term “clante”, a rather common name, or to the Latin verb “clango”, a sound the trumpets make, possibily referring to the beginning of the hunt.

Itinerary:

The bike tour passes through approximately 25 kilometers (15/18 miles) of breathtaking and scenic countryside. The tour starts in the main square of Greve in Chianti where you will meet your guides. From here we proceed for a leisurely trip through the sloping hills covered with vineyards and olive groves. The perfect back drop to an exhilarating morning and afternoon in Tuscany.

Difficulty:

The tour is considered beginner level – fairly easy, going up-hill on the first part and down hill the second part. Designed to let everybody enjoy the wonderful scenery of Chianti. The tour can vary in difficulty depending on the experience of all members, please make enquires directly with Discover Tuscany.

Extra:

A light lunch can be organized in a farm house or at local restaurant.

Tour includes:

Bikes – Helmets - Water bottles – 1 / 3 bike guides (according to the dimension of the group) - a van to assist the group on the road - wine tasting – and explanation of the wines made by an expert sommelier.

Groups larger than 15 persons will be priced individually according to the number of persons. If you have special needs or requirements please advise immediately at time of booking. All prices are per person for destinations within 60 km of Florence, other areas will have a small travel expense per group.
