Discover Tuscany by HIking or Trekking

Discovering Tuscany has never been so easy

and so much fun! We have taken some of our favourite destinations in this vast region of Italy and packaged them together in four days of hiking, wine and food. With this itinerary you will visit Tuscany from a different perspective – and we will be there to show you the wonderful Tuscan treasures that are missed when whizzing by in a car.

Our licensed environmental guide

will accompany you on the paths and trails of Tuscany that lead to vineyards, olive groves, picturesque fields of sunflowers and grain, medieval towns, small Tuscan cafes and “enotecas”. We will show you where the flavours and perfumes of this special land have their origins – and sometimes you will even get your hand in creating great memories of this breathtaking land. Each day has been carefully structured to offer you a new view of Tuscany – yet not too structured to permit surprises and new additions.

Our program changes location each week in order to take in the local activities of Tuscany– the grape picking in Chianti, the olives harvest in Lucca, the food festivals which abound in the open countryside near Pienza, Montalcino and Cortona. Each day of our tour package is a Tuscan adventure and Discover Tuscany will hike you out to meet all this and so much more! We will start each day with a hearty breakfast and then off to explore. The program offers two full day hikes and one after sunset – when the landscape changes and the stars will light our way. We have arranged one morning free where you can relish a Tuscan town, wander the streets and relax with a café at the local bar.

The lodgings will change according to the area we are exploring – but the program is the same: hiking, wine tasting, new territory, delicious meals and good times.

Day 1
Upon request we will pick you up from Florence and transport you to the hotel. Early check-in at 10,30, a quick orientation at 11 of the itinerary, (we provide your itinerary details upon receipt of the initial deposit) . . . and we are on the road !! with 12 noon departure time we will be hiking most of the afternoon to make the most of the daylight. Dinner is served at 8 pm.

Day 2
This morning you are on your own to discover the local delights, we will advise you of local markets, art exhibitions and events. Take your time to feel the Tuscan atmosphere. Upon request we can arrange an afternoon cooking lesson at a nearby Tuscan villa – followed by our leisurely After Sunset Trek.

Day 3
Enjoy a leisurely breakfast and relax those muscles – today you will be using a new set of muscles! Your driver will pick you up at 10 am to take you on your wine tour. Our two stops will offer you an overview of the different styles of wine making and the vastly different flavours that the grapes can offer. We include a light lunch. Discover Tuscany form the comfort of our van which will take you back to the hotel for dinner at 8 pm.

Day 4
One more day of trekking the hillsides of Tusancy – start time at 9 am ! and we are off once more to discover new treasures in the Tuscan countryside. Any special request – let your guide know in advance and we can try to accommodate, otherwise we let the weather and our inclinations guide us along new roads and trails. Tuscany has much to offer and we try to get you there in these 4 wonderful days.

Day 5
Breakfast at the hotel and you are off on your own once more . . . a transfer back to Florence can be arranged upon request -
