The district of Chianti Classico
...accounts for approximately one third of the Chianti wine produced in Tuscany, Italy. Follow the road of Gallo Nero, the black cock which is the international symbol for the alliance of the Lega di Chianti. You will be guided down hidden roads, paths and ancient tracks where you will be able to view the typical Tuscan Chianti landscape based on the Sangiovese grape, central Italy's predominant red grape.
Itinerary:
We meet in Panzano in Chianti, a hill top town overlooking a the well known Golden Valley and immediately start our trip by a stroll through this historic town and its truly unique shops before heading out to a well known Chianti Classico wine producer for a "merenda", better known in English as a snack, Tuscan style...of course. We contine our hike into the territory of vineyards, panoramic views, hill-towns and much more between Florence and Siena.
Difficulty:
The tour is considered beginner level – fairly easy, going up-hill on the first part and down hill the second part. Dedicated to those who appreciate nature in all its integrity and an important part of the history of central Tuscany. The tour can vary in difficulty depending on the experience of all members, please make enquires directly with Discover Tuscany.
Tour includes:
Transfer from Florence city center, light lunch, Water bottles – Guide (number varies according to the dimension of the group) - a van to assist the group on the road – visit, entrance fees and insurance.

Groups larger than 15 persons will be priced individually according to the number of persons. If you have special needs or requirements please advise immediately at time of booking. All prices are per person for destinations within 60 km of Florence, other areas will have a small travel expense per group.
