SABATO ON WINE
Lungarotti have put into action one of the first of its kind, a generator which will function using the scraps and leftovers from the vineyards. The project, a collaboration among wine cellars, the Minister for the Agriculture and the Center for Research of “Biomasses” from the University of Perugia, will produce 720 mwh / per year.
That is to say 100% of the thermal consumption for the wine cellar : hot water, heating, vapour for the sterilizing of the bottles, cold water for the air conditioning for the summer and water for the refrigeration of the vats for the fermentation. The system will also be capable of covering at least 30% of the electrical consumption for the refrigerators. The goal is to arrive at full energy independence.
